Well, it seems like the worst of winter is over (although I'm still anticipating one more big snow storm) but spring is a long way off. We've had lots of rain and not-quite-nice days recently and continue with our annual hibernation. Davy finds fun building towers, looking out the window as cars drive by, reading lots of stories lots of times, and attacking mom. Davy, like his mama, is very confident that he is right in what he (thinks he) knows. For example, from watching the cars out the window he knows the phrase "it's a car!" which in Davy-speak sounds like "issacah!" We were reading a book with pictures of trucks and Davy kept saying "issacah!" to which I kept answering back with the same level of enthusiasm, "look, it's a truck!" giving a real emphasis to the word truck. Davy would point again, "issacah!" At a certain point I realized that we were practically arguing about a silly technical detail and I should be the grown up and let it go!

Davy is not a vampire, although after four months without seeing the sun (except for two weeks in glorious CA) I think we all definitely feel pale and cold-blooded! Really, it was just the flash that made this one weird. But the expression is just what I see before Davy launches himself at me and attacks me with kisses and giggles and hair pulls (ouch).

Still in a bit of a daze after waking up. He loved his valentines from my family, though. Carried those cards around the house for a couple days and scrunched them to pieces.

Collin's embarrassed by this girly man-bag purse thing. But it's the perfect size and Davy doesn't know the difference. He just needs a place for his phone, some snacks (fake apples and bread) and his keys. I love watching his playing-pretend skills and imagination already starting to develop. Just small things, but they prove that he is watching and learning and already becoming his own bright person.

Last weekend we all came down with a yucky stomache bug that is circulating here. It was our first real sickness with a kid in the house (besides a small cold or two). So sad! Here are my two boys, who had it worse than I did, resting together. I was so grateful it hit on a weekend when we could afford to just sleep for two days and recover before work started again.
